Once again Twitter serves me well! Friend and one of the Allies of the Nation, Conduit_Speaks brought my attention to this fantastic trilogy of shorts by Chris Nash. Conduit and I had a short (140 characters or less lol) conversation about them and needless to say I was totally sold on the series because here we are reviewing the first installment in the SKINFECTION Trilogy. Skinfection is a great concept with each short lending to the next until at the end you have a well crafted piece in full.
I admit going into this one I expected just gag reflex grossness, but really its so much more than that. Once it begins your are quickly caught up in a uniquely relatable, sweet, and endearing film, but don't get me wrong its also irreverently funny, sexually deviant, and downright gorgeously gross with a great big capital G!! Its twisted with a heart, one that you just must see!
My Main Squeeze is a narrated short, which honestly I don't often enjoy narrations, but this one is special. Aaron Spurgeon offers the narration, and the tiny little voice just transports you, and calls to something deep inside that instantly makes the viewer feel at one with the back story to our main character. She, from childhood, finds a path to inner sanctuary, and she follows it to adulthood where it eventually turns into, this weird, vile but yet laugh out loud funny, connection with her fellow man...
And that folks is all i am going to say about this one, its a little over 8 minutes and so completely worth the time, just take a watch for yourself. I will be reviewing the remaining 2 shorts that finish off the series in the upcoming days so be sure to keep an eye out!
